GEOFFREY W DOOLE - Managing Partner, FCQI

Geoff is a founder member of Excel Partnership, providing training and consultancy support to clients in over 50 countries worldwide. Geoff progressed from an industrial engineering career to an extensive period of auditing and audit management with BSI QA, the world's largest certification body. Whilst managing the business development activity for BSI, he played a key role in introducing ISO 9000 to industries in the UK and internationally in the fields of transport, food, textiles, pharmaceuticals, paper and packing, in addition to the service sector.

As well as initiating certification systems within Brazil and establishing INMETRO as a national certification body, Geoff has worked with all of the Big 3 automotive companies in the USA and Land Rover, Rolls Royce Motor Cars, Bentley Motors, Nissan, Ford and Vauxhall in the UK. Geoff has extensive experience of training clients all over the world and working with diverse cultures. He has also worked for companies in the defence field, including the MoD and branches of the armed forces. Geoff has also provided support to certification bodies such as BSI, TüV and NQA, including overseas certification bodies gaining accreditation for their services in the Caribbean, South America, the Far East and China.

As a leading Excel trainer, Geoff has trained over 4,000 Lead Auditors as well as a Fellow of the Chartered Quality Institute. He gained his MA in Business Studies and Bachelor of Engineering Honours Degree from the University of Sheffield

GORDON R STAPLES- Managing Partner, FCQI

Also a founder member of Excel Partnership, Gordon has had industrial experience in machine tools, computer manufacture, steam plant design and manufacture for nuclear and military applications and on/offshore oil and gas equipment. He developed British Gas Corporation's auditor training and has held senior posts in international consultancies in Europe and USA, working with many major companies in diverse fields, working in over 60 countries across the world. He helped to develop the first IRCA certified Lead Auditor courses in 1984 and was instrumental in helping to set up the auditor qualification system in the USA (now RABQSA) and when Excel Partnership, Inc was established in the USA, he was President while it developed its early presence in the USA and he undertook the majority of the early training and consultancy work.

Within Excel, Gordon developed the content of and design of many of Excel's training courses, particularly the quality related ones – Introduction courses, Lead Auditor, Internal Auditor, Quality Improvement, Problem Solving and as consultant to BSI, wrote its Lead Auditor course. He is the author of various chapters of "The Handbook of Quality Management" (Gower). He is a Fellow of the Chartered Quality Institute and a registered Quality Systems Lead Auditor with RABQSA.

TIM D ALCOCK - Managing Partner, FCQI

From his initial career in the petrochemical and nuclear sectors, Tim worked for the Design Council as manager of product evaluation and test and for number of international consultancy and training organizations. He advised on the establishment of several third party certification schemes as well as running audit and surveillance activities on behalf of third party certification bodies. Tim acted as a lead assessor for a number of third party certification and accreditation bodies such as BSI and LRQA and for NATLAS/NAMAS (now UKAS) as a Lead Auditor. He was Managing Director of a leading management consultancy in South East Asia taking it form start up to turnover in excess of £1m. He has worked in a variety of industries including construction, manufacturing, software, laboratories, electronics, automotive and the service sector.

Tim specialises in the application of ISO/IEC 17025, 17020 and ISO 15189. He has developed and led Excel's tutor team running Auditor and Lead Auditor training classes on a regular basis and is a key figure in Excel's ISO 9001 work and general Quality Management Tools.

Tim qualified from UMIST, UK with a BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng), a Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, an IRCA registered Lead Auditor, a Fellow of the Chartered Quality Institute and a Member of the American Society for Quality. He is the Author of "A Manager's Guide to ISO 9000" (Times Publications).
